Just kidding. 

I’m not going to tell you who to vote for. I know many passionate, intelligent people who wildly disagree on politics. I have my views, and you probably have yours too. I would be happy to grab a beer and ask you what you believe and why – I would be glad to answer the same questions too. 

Elections are important, but they can’t honestly tell us how to act in our everyday lives. Even if totalitarianism swept the nation or world, you still get to choose how to behave in your moment-to-moment choices. No government can give or take that away.

While I won’t tell you who to vote for, but I will implore you to make choices that help instead of hurt. Choose to love those around you, even the ones you disagree with. Even the ones you hate (or that you think hate you.) Pick up that trash in the park instead of just walking by. Choose the path of honesty, even when it doesn’t benefit you. Don’t hurt others just because it feels good. Do not pursue money over people. 

I won’t tell you how to vote in the election. But implore you to consider your vote in your everyday actions – and choose to leave your world a better place than you found it. You can start today.
